SAD: Student Commits Suicide Over Female Lover by Drinking Poison
A university student who could not cope with the heartbreak by his female lover has decided to end his life in the easy way by allegedly drinking poison.
A 24 year-old student at Matili Technical Training Institute in Kimilili, Bungoma County in Kenya has committed suicide by drinking poison over a female lover at the institution. He died at Kimilili Sub District hospital while receiving medication on Sunday.
According to the Student's Council Chairman Douglas Shiundu said the late student was a jovial student and they were surprised to find out that he had committed suicide saying he never showed any signs of stress.
"Antony Wanjala was taking Fabrication and Welding course is suspected to have taken poison after disagreeing with his female lover who is also a fellow college student. He never left behind any suicide note to indicate his reason of doing it," he said.
He said that investigation has been launched by the police to unravel what actually happened and warned students to stop spreading propaganda.
"We are deeply saddened by his death, he was a promising students who would have assisted his parents in future, am calling on the administration to offer more guiding and counseling sessions to the students to avoid such incidents in future," said Shiundu.
He called on students to stop engaging in immature relationships while in schools if they can't handle them accordingly.
"Am calling on my fellow students not to commit suicide when they are faced with a problem, adding that every problem has a solution and taking away their lives will only affect their families," he said.
The body was taken to Dreamland Hospital morgue as it awaits a post mortem to a certain the main cause of death.
