Some men claiming to be former bodyguards to President Buhari who served him during the buildup to the 2015 general election, are speaking out on how the president abandoned them.
Speaking with reporters on Thursday, Badiru Olabiyi Balogun who is the spokesman of a group of former bodyguards of President Muhammadu Buhari, the group said the Nigerian Police Force, has deployed its men to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja, venue of the planned protest.
Recall that we earlier reported that the group of former bodyguards to President Buhari who served him during the buildup to the 2015 general election, accused him of abandoning them immediately after he took over office on May 29th 2015, and vow to protest against their exclusion by those they described as “cabals in the government.”
The group earlier alleged that apart from the N20,000 they got on two occasions in January and February 2015,“we had never and were never given anything.”
According to Balogun in today's disclosure, their planned move to protest this morning, was stopped by the police.
“Two truckloads of mobile policemen have been deployed to our office. They said the instruction was that they should not allow us access to the office and that the people outside should not be allowed to go out.
“So, we are meeting there by 9:00 am this (Thursday) morning to disgrace them. The venue is APC Presidential Campaign Office in front of Unity Bank, CBD, Abuja,” he said.
