UPDATE: INEC releases suspended results for Tai LGA in Rivers State, declares APC winner

According to official information, INEC has made it known that the results for Tai had been released. They had a meeting on Thursday with stakeholders of APC, PDP and other political parties.

The position is that elections can't be this August and not in September too, because of Edo and Ondo elections. So that they are looking at October for any possible elections in Rivers State, but everyone has to first of all agree to a new date for the elections in constituencies where they are no winners.

Consequently, the Independence National Electoral Commission has announced the results of the cancelled election of Tai LGA in Rivers state.

The implication is that Senator Magnus Abe, Mr. Barry Mpigi and Mr. Mathew Dike all of APC have over 35,000 votes over and above their PDP counterparts who have between 2000 to 3000 votes.

There are still some outstanding constituencies, where elections will probably hold in October and the main contenders are still the APC and PDP candidates.
